SYNOPSIS
Skinned is a short film revolving around a man, a woman and their crumbling relationship. Fronted by a heavily performance-fueled aesthetic incorporating aspects of dance, theatre and film, the piece displays the struggle and eventual degradation of a relationship through metaphor and the performance of the man and woman within the piece. Naked, their lean and seemingly perfect bodies entangled to keep warm in their cold and metallic environment… But as they struggle to give whatever of their own they can to the other, they only continue to tear each other apart – literally. As layers of skin are pealed off, revealing the less perfect muscle that rests underneath, the imperfections that rest in each of them become more apparent as they see for the first time their true selves in one another.
Rabid Pictures is currently in early development for Skinned. The production is currently looking to secure funds and will continue to do so through 2011, targetting an early 2012 completion.
